S- Blade Putters 10-10-09

Matt Phillips
PATENTED TECHNOLOGY
The Spherical Blade putters, known as "S-Blade", are both USGA and R&A rules-compliant and patented in the UK with patents pending in Europe, USA and Japan. The putters look conventional, but crucially, the face is very gently spherical in shape. The radius of the 'north-south' convex curve is precisely measured to ensure the point of impact on the ball is always just above its mid-point, or equator. This means the putter always impacts the top half of the ball to ensure immediate top over bottom roll.

Ever since Ivor Thom designed the original S-Blade putter, “putting accuracy first” has been the guiding principle of Spherical Blade. Now, the unique, patented, spherical face of the S-Blade and its unrivalled performance benefits are perfectly complemented by style and finish.

Golf Ring- Patrick Wheat-10-3

The GolfRing
literally creates a ring around the hole to give you a larger, more realistic target. The GolfRing is made of a revolutionary material that is very durable and is so flexible that it follows the terrain of the green and in no way impedes the ball in its path towards the hole. When placed on the green it creates a target that enhances visualization towards the pin by defining the area around the hole.

The GolfRing weighs less than 8 ounces, is extremely portable and is 6 feet in diameter when in use. When not in use, it easily folds down to an 18” small ring and conveniently fits inside the large pocket of your golf bag or it can hang on the outside of your golf bag.

The GolfRing was developed by an attentive dad for his 5-year-old son who asked one day, "Dad show me what three feet from the pin looks like." His dad searched for a practice aid to accomplish this with no luck. Drawing upon his manufacturing resources enabled him to develop the perfect visual practice aid. The GolfRing improved the boy’s short game by providing him a visual target around the hole. That little boy is now a two-time U.S Kids Southern Ohio champion and competed the past two years in the U.S. Kids World Championship. Although The GolfRing was created by one dad for one son, a friend with two golfing sons saw something bigger. They went on to start a company they envisioned could help every golfer of every level improve their short game and even making it fun. In the mean time two of the three boys went on to qualify for the U.S. Kids Regional Championship in 2007 and U.S. Kids Europe. That's when the two dads knew they were on to something big and they were off and running with the best practice aid to hit the game in a long time. The GolfRing is being used by some of the biggest names in golf every time they practice.

Mina Harigae- Duramed Futures Player of the Year- 2009

Rookie MINA HARIGAE was not only the 2009 Player of the Year and the Rookie of the Year, but she might have also been the surprise player of the year. Not that anyone thought the Californian couldn’t play – just that at age 19, when she emerged as the winner of back-to-back titles at the Ladies Titan Tire Challenge in Iowa, and at the Tour’s only 72-hole major championship, the Michelob ULTRA Duramed FUTURES Players Championship in Decatur, Ill., and even then, adding a third season title at the Falls Auto Group Classic in Kentucky, Harigae was starting to look like a young pro with a bright, bright future and ice water in her veins.

By season’s end on Sunday last week, Harigae had earned $88,386 in 16 events, in addition, had also earned honors as Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.

“Last year, I would have never thought I’d be in this position,” said Harigae. “I feel like I grew as a player and a person on the Duramed FUTURES Tour. My main goal was to earn my full [LPGA] card, but getting Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year was like getting double icing on the cake.”

Phresh Wear Inc.- Tim Tochor- 9-19

Toronto, Ontario -- Canadian-based Phresh Wear Inc. will be launching their Spring 2010 line to the United States. Phresh prides itself on being a fresh, new take on the classics. Consumers no longer need to choose between fashion and function as the line continues to bridge the gap between performance and style. The company's slogan "Passion, Performance, Play" not only describes the spirit of the line but the people behind it.

Founder Tim Tochor conceived the line in 2003. An avid golfer that played several mini-tour events, Tochor realized that his talents would be better used outside of simply playing the game. He realized that individuality was something that golf apparel lacked and the changing demographic of the sport demanded more options. The more youthfully-minded golfers entering the market were not interested in the traditional apparel that was commonplace on the course. In addition, these players insist on a very functional, wearable line that not only allowed them to express themselves but that also didn't inhibit their game.

Teaming up with a stellar designer possessing 20 years of textile, forecasting, and design experience, Tochor manufactured a line that met the needs of the new golf demographic. First introduced at the 2004 Ontario PGA show in Toronto, the line received wildly enthusiastic reviews. The "Phresh appeal" and buzz started and has continued to grow. In 2008 Score Golf nominated Phresh Wear as the most emerging Canadian company of the year. The processes of localized production and design assure the company has control of their offerings and allows them to remain a step ahead of the market. With shorter lead times and private label options, they are still able to maintain affordable price points.

The Phresh Spring 2010 collection is a reflection of the current times. With colors that reflect the feeling one has when they play the game, the overall theme is one that goes back to basics and strips out the superfluous. The sentiment is one that allows a well-deserved opportunity to unwind and while reconnecting with what is truly important and the drive to get there. The moods are evident; turquoise for the calming water of the ocean, grove is a relaxing siesta in the orange groves, and aloe invokes those soothing properties of the plant. Earthy colors ground the line with clay, coal, peat, and moss while crystal, maize, and orchid are meant to be more of a stress-relief. Anchored by classics such as navy, white, and black there is something for everyone to feel comfortable and confident in. Styles for Spring 2010 also utilize a sporty yet patriotic vibe that incorporates both classic and modern lines.

Phresh Wear is carried by fine pro shops and resorts throughout the United States. In Canada they can be found in Summerland Golf Club, Mandarin Golf Club, Oakdale Golf Club, Glen Abbey, King Valley, Vancouver Golf Club, and the fine menswear store Frackeltons and Garveys.
